A LaPaz Tower apartment rents for 6-8 million dong a month, about $230-300, according to 8 prices from 3 pages. The building stands in central Hai Chau, in the group of older, lower-priced buildings alongside HAGL Lakeview and Da Nang Plaza. Our catalogue has no unit here right now; the agent we work with finds one on request.

What the building is

LaPaz Tower is at 38 Nguyen Chi Thanh, formerly Thach Thang ward, now Hai Chau ward, near the City Administrative Center and the Han river. The developer is Danang Housing Investment Development (NDN), which sold it as housing for middle-income buyers. It has 17 floors and one basement: two floors of offices and a mini mart in the podium, apartments from the third floor, penthouses at the top. There are 99 apartments of one or two bedrooms, 45-96 m², seven to a floor, and 6 penthouses. The show apartment opened in April 2012 and handover was around 2013. The lifts are by Schindler, and the east side looks towards the river. Most residents are Vietnamese.

In an older building, seeing the place matters more than the description: the lifts, the corridors, the parking, and the state of the air conditioners in the apartment. What to check is in our viewing checklist.

Lease terms

From the listings: one month's deposit, leases from six months, utilities by meter, management fee separate. Contracts are in Vietnamese. When you rent through us, a foreign tenant gets a bilingual lease.

How to rent

Put your budget and move-in date into the form. We ask the agent for vacant units and send options within a day or two. Then comes the viewing, the lease, the deposit and the keys. Every step is on the how to rent page.
