A Blue House apartment rents for 4-6.5 million dong a month, about $150-250, according to 6 prices from 4 pages. That is among the lowest rents on the east bank. The blocks stand in Nai Hien Dong, in the north of Son Tra, near the port and the Thuan Phuoc bridge, now in the new Son Tra ward. Our catalogue has no unit here right now; the agent we work with finds one on request.

What the complex is

The official name is "Chung cư cho người thu nhập thấp tại Khu tái định cư Đại Địa Bảo", apartments for low-income residents in the Dai Dia Bao resettlement area. The developer is a consortium of Công ty CP Đức Mạnh and Công ty CP Đầu tư và Xây dựng 579. There are three blocks, A, B and C, of 9 floors each with a half-basement for parking, 739 apartments by the project: block B came into use in 2013 and block A in 2016, with 251 apartments each, and block C, with 237 social housing apartments, is under construction and had reached the fifth floor in November 2025. It is social housing, the residents are local families, and there is a kindergarten and a community house but no pool or gym. We have not confirmed the management fee.

Because this is social housing, renting an apartment out has its own rules. Before you sign, ask the owner what entitles them to rent this apartment out.

Who it suits

Local families and working people who want their own apartment at the lowest price and work at the port, in the industrial areas or in the north of the city. Not for foreigners who need services in English, and not for anyone who wants the beach and cafés on foot: My Khe is 10 to 15 minutes away by scooter.

Lease terms

From the listings: one month's deposit, leases from six months, utilities by meter. The area is low and close to the port, so ask about flooding around the blocks before the rainy season; our guide to the typhoon season for renters says what to check.

How to rent

Put your budget and move-in date into the form. We ask the agent for vacant units and send options within a day or two. Then comes the viewing, the lease, the deposit and the keys. Every step is on the how to rent page.
