Euro Village, Làng Châu Âu in Vietnamese, is a gated villa compound on the east bank of the Han river, right beside the Dragon Bridge, in Son Tra. It is the villa compound closest to the centre: Han market is five minutes away across the bridge, and My Khe beach is ten minutes by scooter. Our sample has too few public asking prices for this compound to print a range, so we quote per house. Our catalogue has no house in the compound right now; the agent we work with finds one on request.
What the compound is
The developer is Sun Group. Euro Village 1 lies on the east bank of the Han river between the Dragon Bridge and the Tran Thi Ly bridge, bounded by Tran Hung Dao, Ngo Quyen and the river, now in An Hai ward. It covers about 24 hectares with more than 800 m of river frontage, its own marina and three gates with 24-hour security. Most of it was sold as plots for villas and townhouses, and the owners built to one European design code, so there is no single handover year: the first phase dates from about 2011 to 2014. The houses are terraced and semi-detached villas of three floors with a small yard and room for a car at the door.
What sets Euro Village apart from the other villa compounds is its position. One River and The Ocean Villas are on the edge of the city, 20 to 30 minutes from the centre by car; Euro Village is in the middle of the city, looking across at the Bach Dang promenade. In exchange the plots are narrower, the yards are smaller, and most houses have no private pool.
Rent
After removing the prices that belong to other property types, the sample has too few asking prices for villas here, so we do not print a range. Prices vary widely because the compound has both houses with basic furniture let as offices and fully furnished family homes. A one-year lease usually comes in below the asking price. For comparison, villas in The Ocean Villas by the golf course are listed at about $2,590 a month. Villas and houses we have available are on the villas for rent page.
Many houses in Euro Village are let as offices, showrooms or restaurants. If you are renting to live in, ask what the neighbours on both sides are.
Who it suits
Families who want a whole house without living far from the centre; people with a car who work in Hai Chau; small companies that need an office with living space. Not for anyone who wants the sea in the window or a private pool. For families with children, the international schools are to the south, 15 to 25 minutes away; details are in our guide to Da Nang with kids.
What is nearby
- The Dragon Bridge and the riverbank beside the compound, with the centre across the bridge.
- My Khe beach, ten minutes by scooter along Vo Van Kiet.
- A supermarket next to the compound, An Hai Bac market close by, restaurants along Tran Hung Dao.
- Azura and the other riverside towers next door; the Korean quarter around Pham Van Dong further north.
Lease terms
From the listings: a deposit of one to two months, leases from six months and usually one year, utilities by meter, the compound's management fee separate. For a villa, write into the lease who looks after the yard and who maintains the plumbing. Before the rainy season, look at the ground floor and the garage: this is a riverside compound, and our guide to the typhoon season for renters says what to check.
