An Thuong is two dozen short numbered streets between the beach road and Ngu Hanh Son street, in the My An quarter on the southern beach side. It is one of the few places in Da Nang where you can live for months without a scooter: the beach is five minutes on foot, and cafés, coworking spaces, bars, laundries and English-speaking agencies are on every corner. The housing is low-rise serviced buildings with studios and one-bedrooms; from listings, studios and one-bedrooms mostly go for 7.5-11.5 million dong a month, $285-440. Our catalogue has nothing in the quarter right now; we find places on request. Below is what to know before moving here.

Officially the quarter does not exist: since July 2025 it is part of Ngu Hanh Son ward, and before that of My An ward. The signs and the listings still say "An Thuong", so do we; the renaming is explained in our guide to the new ward names.

Who it suits

People who come alone or as a couple for three to six months, work remotely and want the sea in the morning and people in the evening. People who have just landed and have not chosen an area yet: a first month in An Thuong is a good way to see the city without getting on a scooter. Anyone who needs an English-speaking street so as not to feel lost.

Who it does not suit: families with children, because it is loud and the serviced buildings rarely have a pool; anyone who needs quiet after ten at night; anyone who wants a big apartment in a tower with a lift and security. There are none here; the nearest towers stand on the beach road and further north.

Rent prices

No homes of ours in the quarter as of 26.09.2026, so this is the market from listings on Cho Tot as of 27.09.2026:

What Per month What is usually inside
Studio 7.5-18 million ₫, median 9.9 million ($380) bed, kitchen corner, air conditioning, shared washing machine
One-bedroom 5-14 million ₫, median 8.5 million ($325) separate bedroom, kitchen, balcony, sometimes a washing machine
Two-bedroom 15-20 million ₫ ($570-760), three listings rare, mostly in the buildings by the beach road

In all, 35 studio and one-bedroom listings: from 5 to 18 million dong, the middle half 7.5-11.5 million, $285-440, with a median of 8.6 million, about $330. The typical size is 30-45 m². Studios came out dearer than one-bedrooms in this sample, a median of 9.9 million against 8.5.

What matters about these prices. An Thuong is full of nightly rentals, and the same studio advertised "monthly" costs noticeably more than on a six-month lease. Electricity here is almost always billed at the owner's flat rate of 3,500-4,000 dong per kWh rather than the EVN tariff. Deposit is one month. Leases are often Vietnamese-only or verbal; we do not sign those and bring our own bilingual one.

For comparison, our one-bedrooms in the new Panoma towers by the Tran Thi Ly bridge start at $654, with a pool, parking and a proper lease. Beach-side apartments in towers are collected on the near the beach page.

What is nearby

  • My Khe and Bac My An beach: three to seven minutes on foot from any of the streets.
  • Bac My An market by Ngu Hanh Son street: vegetables, fruit, seafood, street food.
  • Cafés and coworking spaces: dozens, with sockets and decent internet; Western, vegan, Korean and Russian food.
  • An Thuong 4 and Hoang Ke Viem streets: bars and music late into the night.
  • The centre: across the Tran Thi Ly bridge, 15 minutes by scooter. International schools: further south, 10-20 minutes.

The downsides

  • Noise. Bars and motorbikes until two in the morning at weekends; a building on An Thuong 4 and one three streets away are different worlds. See the apartment in the evening, not at noon.
  • Scams and "apartments" that exist only in photos. The quarter lives on tourists, and tourist quarters are where people get asked to prepay for housing that is not there. How to rent safely before you are in the city is in our guide to renting before arrival.
  • Build quality. Serviced buildings go up fast and cheap: mould in the bathroom, thin walls, the air conditioner over the bed. What to check at the viewing is in the viewing checklist.
  • Rainy season: the narrow streets flood after a heavy downpour; the water drains in hours, but ground floors suffer.

How to rent here through us

Tell us in the form what you need: studio or one-bedroom, budget, date, length of stay. The agent we work with knows the quarter's serviced buildings by address rather than by photos; we send two or three options with real pictures and the price on a lease of your length.

To compare with the neighbouring parts of the city: Ngu Hanh Son, which An Thuong belongs to, Son Tra with the river towers, and Hai Chau with the city centre. The whole picture is in the guide to the best areas to live.
